Yeehaw, Carmel!

On October 2nd, we went to Jonamac Orchard and had our yearly annual CMA barn dance! We spent the whole week learning how to square dance, so that we could showcase to the parents and teach them to dance too! We welcomed some old friends, some new friends, and certainly had a whole lot of community fun! Everyone had an awesome time!

The pre-primary class has been learning about what is living and non living and the difference between a vertebrate and an invertebrate. This past week, they went on a trip to Red Oak Nature Center and applied what they learned. They also collected and identified some cool leaves!

On Friday, October 17th, the erdkinder and primary-elementary classes went on a trip to the Pullman Institute in downtown Chicago! We learned lots about how the Pullman company was founded, how the workers lived their lives, and got to walk around the town and neighborhoods where Pullman workers lived! We have been learning about the Industrial Revolution in our history classes, so it was neat to apply what we learned!

We are finally harvesting our very comically large pumpkins from our garden! Along with pumpkins, we are harvesting cucumbers, zucchini, and lots and lots of tomatoes.

Next Friday, the 30th of October, we are having our CMA halloween party, where we’ll be having scavenger hunts, playing spooky halloween games, and eating donuts from a tree! Stay tuned to hear about the halloween fun!
