High School History Around the World
Every three years, Carmel’s Erdkinder students have the opportunity to take their history studies abroad through EF Educational Tours. The trip is a natural extension of the way Carmel students learn by experiencing the world around them, asking questions, making connections, and taking an active role in their education.
Students have the chance to stand in the places they have studied, experience historic sites and works of art firsthand, and discover the culture and everyday life of another part of the world. What they have learned through history and literature takes on new meaning when they can connect it to a place and experience it for themselves.
Just as importantly, Carmel students travel as a community. They practice independence, responsibility, flexibility, and cooperation as they navigate unfamiliar places and new experiences together. The trip becomes about more than seeing the world—it is an opportunity to grow within it.
